It's been a couple of weeks since I last sent out an email
I know but I have been busy with lots of projects.
My days are normally taken up between my online business and
my projects I build in my garage for my youtube channel.
Between those two things I can be non stop for days even weeks.
I am also still creating the youtube course that I told you about. I'm
nearly finished with it so will update you again soon.
That being said I wanted to send you this little email today
with something very valuable.
This is something that no one can teach you. However I can
tell you about it so that you know about it when it hits you.
I want to talk about FAILURE...
Yep, I know it's not fancy, it's not going to make you feel all
warm and fuzzy and great and wonderful after reading today's
email but what it will do is arm you with the knowledge so that
you can prepare what is to come.
You see a lot of people look at failure as failing at something
and basically not winning at it or being successful which we
are all conditioned from an early age to think that as a bad
or negative thing.
It's only when you dive deep in the trenches of life and try and be
successful at something you start to become more familiar with
failing.
It's going to happen whether you like it or not.
In fact even when you do start succeeding you will still fail on the odd
occasion.
Back when I started online around 2008 I failed many times before I started
generating income and making sales online. This is the same for most
people online too. Anyone that tells you that it's all been easy from the start
is flat out lying to you.
Now...over the years I have come to enjoy failing because I look at it
as not just failing. I look at it as education. Education becomes knowledge,
knowledge becomes power, power becomes very profitable and with
experience becomes a lot more power.
So the next time you try something online and it doesn't work out then
look at it as education and say to yourself "ok this way doesn't work but I will
try another way to see if it works better"
Having that kind of mindset is pure gold.
I know we mainly talk about online business examples but let me give you
another example where I also use this mindset in which it has paid off.
In case you don't know one of my other hobbies is Indoor green bowls or also known
as lawn bowls. I don't actually like playing much outside in the summer months
I enjoy the game more playing indoors from September to April each year.
I started playing indoor bowls at the age of 12 years old when my dad taught me.
I got to a good level but stopped in 1997 as I joined the armed forces and
didn't play again until 2018.
I have been playing now again for over 4 years and have already got back
to a very good level where I have earlier this year qualified for a major uk
ranking event and I'm now sitting 37th on the bowls world ranking list.
Like many sports and hobbies it can be very hard to achieve good success
and go on to do well but as I said to you earlier it requires you to fail at times
to get there.
I firmly believe that because of all of the crap that I have gone through with my
online business over the last 13 years it has taught me a lot about mindset
which not many people have and it's just as important as ability in my opinion.
You see some people are scared of entering competitions because you are
putting your name and reputation on the line and some people don't know
how to deal with failure or losing a game and will go into a meltdown....
Every single game I have had over the last few years where I have lost I have
used that as a learning process and learned things to take into my next game.
Having this mindset is extremely powerful. Not just for my hobby with bowls
but this is for any sport, hobby and business.
So start using failure as education and once you adopt this way of thinking
you will start finding things so much easier.
My target is to get into the top 16 world ranking list. I'm currently ranked number 37.
it could take me another couple of years it could take me another 10 years or even longer.
It's been my dream to make it to the world championships as a qualifier so
watch this space. 🙂
I hope you enjoyed today's email.
Enjoy the rest of your evening
Paul
